Before opening The Object Space in 2023, Jane Jackson founded Jackson Fine Art in 1989, contributing to the development of the international photography market and the Atlanta art community.   She sold the gallery in 2003 to become the first Director of the Sir Elton John Collection, a role she held until her retirement in 2013.  Over the following decade, Jane expanded her interest to the art of international makers. The Object Space marks her new creative direction, showcasing 20th-century and contemporary works in ceramics, glass, wood, and textiles.

Jackson was advising curator for A Chorus of Light: Photographs from The Sir Elton John Collection for the High Museum of Art in Atlanta in 2000.  She served as curator and editor for An Instinctive Eye: A Selection of Contemporary Photographs from the Sir Elton John Collection at the Pinchuk Art Center in Kiev in 2007.  Jackson interviewed Sir Elton John for the Tate Modern’s exhibition catalogue of The Radical Eye: Modernist Photography from the Sir Elton Collection published in 2016.

Jane Jackson has served on several boards including the Association for International Photographic Art Dealers (AIPAD), The Center for Creative Photography in Tucson and served six years on the Executive Committee and Collection Committee for the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.
