The Object Space is an art gallery focused on 20th Century & Contemporary fine art objects from renowned and rising international fine art craft makers. Working with both primary and secondary markets the gallery strives to exhibit and represent an open and passionate approach to art making, share contexts within a growing community of makers, and exhibit curatorial inquiries exploring the intersticial spaces where fine art craft may exist. The Object Space is located in West Atlanta. The Object Space was established in January 2023 by Jane Jackson.

    Prior to beginning opening The Object Space in 2023, Jane Jackson founded Jackson Fine Art in Atlanta in 1989 transforming the photography world and the Atlanta art community along the way. She sold the gallery in 2003 when she was appointed as the first Director of the Sir Elton John Collection, a position she held until 2013. Jackson served as curator and editor for An Instinctive Eye: A Selection of Contemporary Photographs from the Sir Elton John Collection at the Pinchuk Art Center in Kiev in 2007 and was advising curator for A Chorus of Light: Photographs from The Sir Elton John Collection for the High Museum of Art in Atlanta in 2000. Jackson interviewed Sir Elton John for the Tate Modern’s exhibition catalogue of The Radical Eye: Modernist Photography from the Sir Elton Collection published in 2016.

     

    Jane Jackson has served on several boards including the Center for Creative Photography, AIPAD, and six years on the Executive Committee and Collection Committee for the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.
