'With my objects I try to respond to the wood through a simple design and to bring out the beauty that lies in each piece. I find it exciting to let the wood determine its final shape when it is finished wet-turned, as it warps during the drying process. This is how the wood becomes a co-creator - and my objects become holzArt. It is often precisely the so-called wood defects that turn an object into a work of art. The wood shows us its history, which we don't know but are allowed to see. It is up to me to recognize the hidden work of art and make it visible.'
