Freymond (Swiss, 1923-2011) attended the Ceramic School of Chavannes-Renens in Lausanne, a French speaking region of Vaud on Lake Geneva, Switzerland. He worked at Basel and Rheinfelden in the early 1940s, and kept a studio in the beautiful valley of Böckten from the late 1940s until 1978. Exhibiting his art work in the late 1950s gained him prominent recognition and he exhibited his ceramics and painting internationally throughout his career. Seen above is an example of his bold color choices and sleek handle on ideal modern forms.
